Is the Aspire AVP the vaping device for you?

What Is the Aspire AVP?

First let us familiarize ourselves with the few parts and components that make up the AVP, below you will see a visual example exploded view chart with all parts labeled for your reference.

The Aspire AVP is a device created under the premise that the Aspire Breeze 2 and Nautilus AIO aren’t pod vaping devices in the traditional sense of the term. Though the two devices do have replaceable pods, they also have replaceable atomizer coils, and that gives them a level of complexity that some users may not enjoy. In addition, both of those devices use manual fire buttons, and many vapers prefer the simplicity of draw-activated devices with automatic puff sensors.

The Aspire AVP is a new pod vaping system that corrects the potential shortcomings of Aspire’s earlier pod mods. It’s a much smaller and simpler device than its predecessors, but it doesn’t sacrifice the flexibility of refillable pods or the superior vapor production of Aspire’s more complex pod systems. You can see in the image below the size in relation to a standard Iphone.

The amazing new feature of the Aspire AVP is a trio of variable wattage settings. With virtually all other pod systems, the output is locked at one wattage and never changes. With the Aspire AVP, on the other hand, you can toggle between 8, 10 and 12 watts at will. That’s how the AVP produces so much vapor despite its simple design. We’re extremely excited that a leading vaping product manufacturer has finally released a variable-wattage pod system, and we think you’ll be just as excited as we are.

Aspire AVP: What’s Included

Althought light and portable the AVP comes complete with a one size fits all lanyard necklace to reduce the chances of loss or damage to the device. As you can see in the image below the AVP hangs firmly from the lanyard, this may be a convience you have been waiting for!

How to use the Aspire AVP device

Charging the Battery

To charge the Aspire AVP, connect the included cable to the bottom of the device and to one of your computer’s USB ports. The indicator light cycles through red, blue and green until the charge cycle is complete. When the battery is fully charged, the indicator flashes 20 times and turns off. Below is a charging chart and visual example on how to properly charge your device.

Filling the Pod

To fill the Aspire AVP pod, turn the pod upside down and look for the spring-loaded filling nozzle on the bottom. Place the tip of an e-liquid bottle over the filling nozzle and push gently to depress the nozzle. Squeeze the bottle until the pod is full. When you remove the bottle, the spring pushes the nozzle closed. As you can see, it is best to use a needle nose e-liquids bottle for filling. Drop the pod into the Aspire AVP. Magnets hold the pod securely in place. You may reference the chart below for the visual example and proper filling instructions.

Vaping and Changing the Wattage

The indicator light on the front of the Aspire AVP doubles as a control button that allows you to change vaping modes and turn the device on and off. Press the button five times to turn the device on. The indicator light flashes in response. To change vaping modes, press the button twice. The indicator light changes color to show you the currently selected mode.

  • Red: 8 watts
  • Blue: 10 watts
  • Green: 12 watts

Below you will see an image example showing of the color coded mode options for the AVP.

To vape, puff on the mouthpiece of the Aspire AVP as if you were smoking a cigarette. The AVP is a draw-activated device that senses the change in air pressure and automatically begins to generate vapor. As you vape, the indicator light changes color to show you how much battery life remains.

  • Green: Battery charge is above 3.8 volts
  • Blue: Battery charge is between 3.5-3.8 volts
  • Red: Battery charge is below 3.5 volts; recharge soon

Below you can see the image example of the color changes in battery power remaining in the device.

Replacing the Pod

Depending on how you use the Aspire AVP, pods may last anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Your pods will last longest if you use unsweetened e-liquids. You’ll know that it’s time to begin using a new pod because you’ll experience reduced vapor production, or you’ll notice a change in flavor. If you get a burned taste with the Aspire AVP, there are four potential causes.

  • Normal wear and tear. Eventually, the flavor quality of a vaping coil will degrade regardless of what you do.
  • The wick is burned because you’re vaping without giving the wick time to replenish itself between puffs.
  • Residue has collected on the coil because you’re using sweetened e-liquids.
  • The e-liquid that you’re using is too thick for the coil’s small wick openings. You’ll have the best experience with the Aspire AVP if you avoid “Max VG” e-liquids. Try an e-liquid with a 50/50 VG/PG ratio.

A burned taste with the Aspire AVP generally means that it’s time to replace the pod.

Getting the Best Experience With the Aspire AVP

As mentioned above, your e-liquid choice can have a tremendous impact on the quality of your experience with the Aspire AVP. To keep your coils operating at peak efficiency, you should use thin e-liquids without added sweeteners. In addition, many people find that the Aspire AVP works best with nicotine salt e-liquids. Because the AVP is designed for a mouth-to-lung inhaling style, it produces smaller vapor clouds and will deliver the most satisfying experience with higher-nicotine e-liquids. With nicotine salt e-liquids, you can inhale higher nicotine strengths without throat irritation. Start with a nicotine strength around 18-25 mg if you’re new to vaping.

When you puff on the Aspire AVP, use slow and even air pressure to get the biggest, most satisfying vapor clouds possible. If you puff too firmly, you’ll draw e-liquid through the coil’s wick and may end up with vape juice in your mouth.

FINAL TAKE: Do you ever feel like the pod-based segment of the vaping market has become a bit crowded? So do we. That’s why we initially treated the release of the Aspire AVP with a bit of skepticism. We’ve already got devices like the Aspire Breeze 2 and the Aspire Nautilus AIO. Why do we need another pod vaping system? As soon as we saw the new Aspire AVP, though, we understood why Aspire saw fit to expand their product lineup further. The AVP might be the nicest looking small vaping device that Aspire has ever released. It’s also simpler to use than Aspire’s other small devices – and it has an important feature that those devices lack, variable wattage.
